A quick word on Inns

During my difficult BVC year I approached my Inn to see if they would assist me with a LOAN, note the word LOAN (this has the implication that you repay any monies lent to you) I provided them with amongst other things, a copy of a reposession order for my house.I was informed by an email from the treasurer that "We dont have any money and judging from the fact you only got a 2:2 in your undergraduate studies its highly unlikely that you will suceed at the bar, therefore we are not willing to help you". Nothing can beat the feeling of been kicked when you are down (Thanks C.H). On their website my Inn mentions that fact that assistance will be given to "deserving" students, I think you will agree that this is very dickensian. The question remains however If am I not "deserving" am I therefore by implication undeserving? So if you do have desmond and you belong to the same Inn as me, there is every chance you will be considered a write off by your Inn before you have your marks returned for your first BVC assessment. I am currently looking at the possibility of changing Inns, although it may be difficult now but I am sure it must have been done in the past. This is not sour grapes, I just did not appricate getting a good kicking when I was down.
